About the Role:
As a learning partner, Caribou synthesizes evidence and insights to shape investment strategies and foster peer learning among donor portfolio grantees.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Program Manager to lead a working group of bilateral and private foundation donors focused on tackling gender inequity in AI. This role, funded through one of our learning partnerships, offers a unique opportunity to shape an emerging multi-stakeholder initiative and guide donor strategy in this critical space.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Lead the working group, including its vision, purpose, and joint-learning objectives.
  • Further develop a structured approach and strategy for the group to ensure maximum impact and alignment with donor priorities.
  • Conduct outreach, establish partnerships, and identify potential business development opportunities related to AI and Gender, including the development of a multi-donor fund strategy.

Convening Management

  • Organize and execute two to three (2-3) 90-minute virtual convenings and one in-person convening in 2025, supported by Caribou’s Communications and Events team.
  • Develop session agendas that reflect the group’s goals and highlight key opportunities for collaboration.
  • Align with and prepare high-impact speakers to contribute for 30 minutes for each convening.
  • Curate pre-read materials and ensure participants are well-prepared for meaningful engagement.
  • Facilitate virtual convenings, ensuring productive dialogue and actionable outcomes.
  • Lead in preparing and convening a half-day workshop in Kigali as a side event to the Global AI Summit.

Communications and Knowledge Sharing

  • Document insights from each session through notetaking and create actionable follow-up plans.
  • Develop and publish four (4) blog posts as topical outputs from the in-person and virtual sessions to share findings and key takeaways with external audiences.
  • Provide thought leadership and support thematic knowledge sharing within Caribou, our clients, and the broader ecosystem.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain relationships with key donors, experts, and stakeholders to foster collaboration.
  • Ensure the convening group is a trusted space for knowledge exchange and collective action.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of proven experience leading the development of multi-stakeholder donor initiatives, preferably within the gender equity and AI field.
  • Knowledge of gender equity and/or AI in Africa and Asia.
  • Ability to translate complex discussions into accessible insights for broad audiences.
  • Strong project management skills, with demonstrated ability to organize virtual convenings or similar events.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience creating engaging content like blog posts and briefing materials.
  • Ability to engage and align diverse stakeholders with tact and professionalism.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.
